Airbus’ A220 Maiden Landing in Nepal
November 13, 2018: The newest addition to the Airbus family of commercial aircraft, the A220, has made its first visit to Nepal as part of a world demonstration tour.
 
The single-aisle A220-300 was on display at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, on November 11 and 12.
 
The aircraft can can accommodate 145 passengers.
 
The Airbus A220 world demonstration tour using an airBaltic A220-300 version will include trips to China, Thailand, Nepal, Turkey and Latvia.
 
According to Airbus "it offers exceptional performance, comfort and profitability and is well-suited for high altitude airports such as Kathmandu.” 
 
The A220 delivers unbeatable fuel efficiency and true widebody comfort in a single aisle aircraft, the company said.
