Biratnagar, March 10
The 5th South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) women's football tournament is kicking off in Biratnagar from coming Tuesday. This is the first time that the tournament is taking place outside Kathmandu.
Hosts Nepal will play Bhutan in the inaugural match of the tournament to be held at Sahid Stadium. The tournament will run until March 22.
National women's teams from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Sri Lanka and host Nepal are taking part in the tournament. Nepal is grouped in group A along with Bhutan and Bangladesh while group B comprises India, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
