Two-third majority passes Biratnagar as capital of state-1

Biratnagar, May 6 :
The proposal of making Biratnagar as the permanent capital of state-1 was endorsed by a two-thirds majority of the State Assembly.
Out of 93 members of the state assembly, 86 members, present in the meeting, cast vote in favour of the proposal. No vote was cast against the proposal.
State assembly member, Buddhi Kumar Rajbhandari, on the behalf of the Nepal Communist Party presented the proposal regarding the state capital. Four proposals in this regard were registered in the state assembly meeting. The remarks column of the proposal states that the new structures to be constructed for the executive and legislative of State 1 will be made in Itahari, Sundarharaicha of Sunsair and around the vicinity of Biratnagar.
The regulations formulated for temporary capital of the sate was suspended from today itself, said Speaker Pradeep Kumar Bhandari.RSS
