Ex-IGP sent to jail
Kathmandu, July 4 

Former Inspector General of Police Ramesh Chand Thakuri has been sent to jail today. He was sent to jail after his plea to appeal his case by living out of the prison was rejected by the Supreme Court. The former IG was found guilty of committing financial irregularities during the procurement of logistics goods for the Nepal Police on a peace keeping mission in Sudan. He has been sentenced to one year in prison and a fine of Rs. 40,000.(RSS)
