Speaker at the House of Representatives Krishna Bahadur Mahara has said the government was serious to end all kinds of violences against women.
Speaking in an interaction on 'ending violence against women' in Ghorahi on Thursday, Speaker Mahara said the bodies concerned could play effective roles in ending VAW.
The Speaker argued that the superstitious beliefs and conservative mindsets were still prevailing, thereby fomenting discrimination and VAW in Nepali society.
According to him, the parliament had already endorsed resolution motion on ending the violence.
On the occasion, Minister for Women Thammaya Thapa said that a mechanism would be set up comprising local level's representatives to end all sorts of violence against women.
